
School’s out for summer!
In a quest to keep summer enriching, I decided to create a “bucket list” of engaging summer activities that require little or no-prep work-perfect for keeping young children engaged and during summer!
If you’re super organized about scheduling and live by your calendar(like me), these easy activities offer ways to fill your days. These ideas will not only incorporate long-lasting summertime memories, but hours of fun!
So, let’s simplify summer and let kids be kids!
Summer Memory Experiences
Read, Read, Read
Host a Tea Party
Head out on a nature walk. Gather natural materials along the way to turn into an art project
Blow Bubbles
Water Table fun. Fill it with water beads for hours of sensory play fun! Also, check out —– for more fun activities.
Pitch a tent and camp in the backyard
Make homemade popsicles
Pack a lunch and head outside for a picnic
Dig in the sand and make sand castles
Visit the beach, run along the sand and splash in the waves
Join your Summer Reading Program at the local library
Make a sweet summer playlist, blast music and have a dance party
Scoop up ice-cream cones with sprinkles
Beat the heat a visit a local museum
Grab those swimsuits and head to the pool, sprinkler or beach
Head to a movie and eat popcorn
Gettin’ Artsy Experiences
Setup a canvas and paint a picture
Sidewalk Chalk drawings
Collect rocks and paint them different designs
Decorate picture frames. At the end of the summer add your favorite summer memory.

Make Play Dough or Moon Sand
Assemble bird houses, fill them with bird seeds and watch the birds
